Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What happens if it is raining or bad weather is forecasted on the day of your booking?
If the weather is forecasted to be severe, Ellis Leisure will call you in the evening before the date of your hire and advise you on your options and what we can do to help you. The options that are available for you will completely depend on the equipment selected and the type of booking. For health, safety and insurance purposes, we cannot provide inflatables/marquees for outside use in adverse weather conditions (ie. strong winds).
Q: How much notice do I need to give to book a product?
The sooner you give us notice the better! Ellis Leisure advise that as soon as you are certain you would like to hire one of our amazing products, book early to avoid disappointment! During the height of the Summer or Festive season, we take bookings well in advance. Bank Holidays, December and Easter are also popular times for all of our products. Let us know as soon as you have a date in mind and have you chosen bouncy castle! Ellis Leisure always do our best to accommodate your needs.
Q: How many Children or Adults are allowed on the Bouncy Castle?
Each of our amazing products has different limits, which you can find in the product information. Ellis Leisure will personally show you the heights and regulations of your chosen inflatable on the day of your booking and we will advise on the amount of users permitted.
Please not that children's bouncy castles should never be used by adults. CATEGORY11]Adult Bouncy Castles[/], however, are suitable for both children and adults.
Q: How much Space do I need for a Product?
The dimensions of all our products are shown on our website.
If you are ever concerned about the space you have, to ensure you have a stress free booking, just let us know and we will be sure to have a product right for you.
Each bouncy castle is supplied with a source of power, a method of securing the castle and safety matts. Please note space will be required to ensure the castle is safely set up and secured. This will require a minimum of 1ft either side of the castle and an additional 3-4ft minimum at the front and rear of the castle. This information is subject to the equipment selected, i.e. castles with slides will be slightly different.
For the delivery of most of our units, a standard door/gate width of 900cm with a clean width span of this throughout is enough for us to deliver our units. Some of our bigger units do require more space. If worried, please do not forget to check on booking.
Q: How are our Products powered? How much Electricity do our Products use?
Our inflatables require an electricity supply. We only require a normal electric socket (general household three pin socket) located within 45ft of where you would like to place your Inflatable. We will bring extension leads with us! (If you do not have an Electricity socket within 45ft, you can still hire our fantastic products, check out the Q below).
- Inflatables - If the blower runs continuously and uses approximately £0.18 of electricity per hour.
NOTE: All blowers and wiring are safety checked and PAT tested.
Q: What happens if I do not have access to a Power Supply?
Not to worry, here at Ellis Leisure, we can offer you an alternative power source (for inflatable hire only). Depending on how many products you are hiring, we can provide you with a Petrol Blower or a Generator at an additional cost. The above applies if you do not have a power source within 45ft.
Q: Do you charge for cancellation?
We do not charge for cancellation if a booking is cancelled outside of 48 hours before your event date. Any bookings cancelled within 48 hours of your event date will forfeit their deposit. For full information, please see our T&C's.
Q: Are you fully insured?
We carry 10 million pounds worth of public liability cover, (please ask a member of Ellis Leisure if you would like to be provided a copy). With this insurance, if a person is injured whilst using our equipment and this is due to a set up fault or faulty equipment, we are at fault and the hirer can claim. We have a non-claim status, be safe out there.
Q: Can our Products be used Indoors?
Yes, all of our products are suitable for indoor use. Just remember to check the height to the ceiling and the height of the product for inflatable hire. The ceiling must be higher than the height of the castle booked to allow for movement and safety. Heights of all our castles are on our website. When checking the height of your hall please keep in mind the height of any suspended lighting, support beams/wires.
Q: Can I hire Products from you and then Charge people to use the Product?
Yes, of course.
Q: Are your Products Safe?
Yes, unlike other operators all our Bouncy Castles are PIPA safety certified, meaning that they have been engineered and tested to the highest possible safety standards according to Health and Safety executive guidelines. Our service is also covered by £10m of public liability insurance. A member of Ellis Leisure will also provide a full set of safety instructions when we set up, which includes guidelines like the maximum number of users on the Bouncy Castle at once and a maximum age of users etc. This is also visible on all of our castles for ease.
Q: The Ground where I would like the Product is on a Slope/Uneven, is this OK?
Yes. A slight slope is not a problem. If the slope is more than a little, we may not be able to set up in that location. A member of Ellis Leisure team may request an alternate location so please have one in mind. Remember, safety is our optimum priority. If you are unsure as to whether a step up or a slope is too much, then please just give us a call. We can provide a site visit service which is charged from £10 plus travel.
Q: What time do you Deliver and Collect the Products?
Delivery and collection times vary according to a number of factors: your requirements, day light hours, season and the availability of the company and availability of staff. Times vary so indoor (venue) bookings and outside bookings can be catered for. As a standard, we advise that delivery times start from 7am and collection is from 5pm onwards (the same day) unless specified otherwise. We can also cater for hall bookings that is no problem. The latest time we will contract to collect a bouncy castle is 8pm, if that’s too early we offer late hour collections or overnight bookings for most products at an additional charge. Standard delivery and collection areas include London and Essex regions such as Benfleet, Chelmsford, Brentwood, Upminster and Romford.
.Q: Can I keep the bouncy castle overnight?
Yes! We do offer an overnight service at an additional cost per unit. Please see your chosen unit to see the cost and suitability for overnight hire. Please bare in mind that Ellis Leisure do reserve the right to say no for a request of an overnight hire. If we do not feel the unit is safe or secure for an overnight hire at your premises (ie. if you have fence panels missing; in an open area or where the unit is not secure) we will deny overnight hire for your safety..
