Frequently Asked Questions

Question: What happens if it’s raining or particularly bad weather on the day of the booking?

Answer: If the weather is forecasted to be severe we will call you the evening before the date of hire and advise you of your options and our position. The options available to you will completely depend on the equipment selected and your type of booking. For safety and insurance purposes we would advise and cannot provide inflatables/marquees for outside use in adverse weather i.e. strong winds.

Question: How much notice do I need to give to book a product?

Answer: As much notice as possible. During the height of summer or the festive season we take bookings well in advance so let us know as soon as you have a date in mind and have chosen your castle so as to avoid disappointment. We will always do our best to accommodate you. Bank holidays and months of December and the Easter period are also popular times for all of our products, so please ensure you book early to avoid disappointment.

Question: How many children/adults are allowed on the castle/in the hot tub?

Answer: Each product has different limits. Please note children's castles should never be used by adults. Hot Tubs and adult castles can be used by both children and adults. A member of Ellis Leisure will also show you the heights and regulations of your chosen castle on the day of your booking or will advise as to the amount of users for the hot tubs.

Question: How much space do I need for a product?

Answer: The dimensions of all our products are shown on our website.

If you are ever concerned about the space you have, to ensure you have a stress free booking, just let us know and we will be sure to have a product right for you.

Each bouncy castle is supplied with a source of power, a method of securing the castle and safety matts. Please note space will be required to ensure the castle is safely set up and secured. This will require a minimum of 1ft either side of the castle and an additional 3-4ft minimum at the front and rear of the castle. This information is subject to the equipment selected, i.e. castles with slides will be slightly different.

Hot tubs also require an exit and access point for the use of the hot tub, and space for the pump.

Question:Does require electricity output? How is it powered? How much does it use?

Answer: A supply of electricity will be required for all inflatable/hot tubs bookings. We only require a normal electric socket (general house hold three-pin socket) within 45ft of where you want to put the bouncy castle/hot tub. We will bring extension leads with us.

Inflatables - the blower runs continuously and uses approximately £0.18 of electricity per hour.

Hot Tub - the hot tub pump runs continuously and uses approximately £1.50 of electricity per day.

If you do not have electricity within 45ft meters, you can still hire inflatables with us, check out the question below.

NOTE: All blowers and wiring are safety checked and PAT tested.

Question: What happens if I do not have access to a power point?

Answer: If you do not have access within 45ft of a power point we can offer you an alternative
power source (inflatable hire only). We can provide you with a petrol blower or a generator, depending on how many items you are hiring, at an additional cost.

Question: Do you charge for cancellation?

: We do not charge for cancellation if a booking is cancelled outside of 48 hours before your event date (hire start date). Any bookings cancelled within 48 hours of your event date will forfeit their deposit. For full information, please see our T&C's.

Question: Are you fully insured, if a child gets injured who is to blame?

Answer: We carry 10 million pounds worth of public liability cover, (please ask a member of Ellis Leisure if you would like to be provided a copy). With this insurance, if a person is injured whilst using our equipment and this is due to a set up fault or our faulty equipment, we are at fault and the hirer can claim. We have a non-claim status, be safe out there.

Question: Can the product go indoors?

Answer: Yes, all of our products are suitable for indoor use. Just remember to check the height to the ceiling and the height of the product for inflatable hire. The ceiling must be higher than the height of the castle booked to allow for movement and safety. Heights of all our castles are on our website. When checking the height of your hall please keep in mind the height of any suspended lighting, support beams/wires. Please note that dependant on your use of the hot tub, water spillage is to be expected, please ensure to keep the indoor space safe and if hired we advise you try to keep this in the same condition as hired in, towels are useful.

Question: Am I allowed to hire the product from you and then charge people to use the product?

Answer: Yes you are.

Question: Are your units safe? Will you teach me how to have a safe day of fun?

Answer: Yes, unlike other operators all our Bouncy Castles are PIPA safety certified, meaning that they have been engineered and tested to the highest possible safety standards according to Health and Safety executive guidelines. Our service is also covered by £10m of public liability insurance. A member of Ellis Leisure will also provide a full set of safety instructions when we set up, which includes guidelines like the maximum number of users on the Bouncy Castle at once and a maximum age of users etc. This is also visible on all of our castles for ease.

Question: My garden slopes or steps up a bit - will that be OK?

Answer: Yes. A slight slope is not a problem. If the slope is more than a little, we may not be able to set up in that location. A member of Ellis Leisure team may request an alternate location so please have one in mind. Remember, safety is our optimum priority. If you are unsure as to whether a step up or a slope is too much, then please just give us a call. We can provide a site visit service which is charged from £10 plus travel.

Question:What time do you deliver and pickup the bouncy castle?

Answer: Delivery and collection times vary according to a number of factors: your requirements, day light hours, season, busyness of the company and availability of staff. Times vary so indoor (venue) bookings and outside bookings can be catered for. As a standard, we advise that delivery times start from 7am and collection is from 5pm onwards (the same day) unless specified otherwise. We can also cater for hall bookings that is no problem. The latest time we will contract to collect a bouncy castle is 8pm, if that’s too early we offer late hour collections or overnight bookings for most products at an additional charge.

Question: Can I keep the bouncy castle overnight?

Answer: Yes! We do offer an overnight service at an additional cost per unit. Please keep in
mind that we reserve the right to say no to a request for an overnight hire. Please see your chosen unit to see the cost and whether this is allowed for an overnight hire. If a member of
Ellis Leisure does not feel that the unit is safe at your premises. i.e if you have fence panels missing or are in an open area where the unit is not secure, overnight hire will not be favoured and our right will most likely be exercised.

Question: What do I have to pay?

Answer: We request a deposit to be paid for all of our bookings in advance of the event date. Deposit amounts vary according to the total of your booking. Please see your booking email for more details or ask a member of staff. The deposit for an inflatable/soft play/gazebo hire is taken off of your booking total.

Hot Tub/Marquee: A minimum of a £50 deposit is required for this product booking. This is a booking deposit and then once the hire starts, the deposit changes to a security/damage deposit. This deposit is added onto your total price of the booking and is returned via the means it was paid upon collection of the equipment.

1. Card payments, debit or credit card online or over the telephone
